BY KEVIN SAWYER – There are some truly bizarre traffic laws on the books all over America. So, the next time you are about to whine and complain about a parking ticket, just consider what other crazy and weird laws you could be breaking somewhere in the country:

  • In Alabama, you will get arrested if you are driving while wearing a blindfold and in Alaska the cops will pull you over if you have a dog tied to your roof rack.
  • California, of course, has a few crazy laws of their own. In Glendale, it is illegal to jump out of, or off of, a vehicle traveling faster than 65 MPH. And, in Eureka, you can’t sleep on a road. Also in California, a woman can’t be wearing a housecoat while she is driving.
  • It’s against the law in Georgia to drive through a playground. In Connecticut it is against the law to hunt anything from a car.
  • In Maine, it’s illegal to park your vehicle in front of a Dunkin Donuts and in Sag Harbor, New York, you can’t take your clothes off in a car.
  • In Sarasota, Florida, if you run down a pedestrian, you will only be fined $78. In Marietta, Georgia, you can’t spit out the window of a bus or a car but you can if you are driving a truck.
  • You will be immediately arrested in Youngstown, Ohio, if you run out of gas anywhere in town. You can drive on the sidewalk in Oregon as long as you remember that the pedestrians have the right of way on the sidewalks.
  • You can’t ride a camel in Nevada and if, in Washington, your horse is determined to be ugly, you must immediately dismount and find another form of transportation.
  • In Hartford, if you happen to be out walking around on your hands, you can’t cross the street. You need a license to ride a skateboard in Florida and it is illegal for moose to engage in sexual activity on any road or street in Alaska.
