Imagine driving the car that Babe Ruth was driving?

BY KEVIN SAWYER – Lonnie Shelton, 65, is retired and lives in Pampa, Texas. So, what does he do with all of his free time? Well, drive the Lincoln Continental that used to belong to Babe Ruth. What else?

The 1947 Lincoln Continental was given to Babe Ruth as a gift from the Ford Motor Company. Ruth only got to drive it for a year before he died in 1948.

The first Lincoln was made by Ford in 1938. Henry Ford's son, Edsel, was the one who wanted to build such a luxurious vehicle. It soon became a design that all of the other car companies wanted in on.

Lonnie is a huge baseball fan and has quite the collection of memorabilia. The carpeting in the trunk is a nice touch.

The baseball bat is just part of Lonnie's collection. It didn't belong to Babe Ruth. The interior colors were specifically designed to reflect the colors worn by the New York Yankees at that time.
