BY KEVIN SAWYER – The New York City police department has recently taken possession of 250 brand new tiny vehicles known as Smart for Twos. The vehicles were ordered by the city to replace the noisy motorcycles that had been in use for neighborhood patrols.

The new Smart for Twos are being swapped out for the two person tricycles that had been patrolling the city’ streets and neighborhoods. The three wheelers were difficult to handle and caused a lot of noise and were not as comfortable to be in or to drive as the new vehicles seem to be.

One of the most advantageous features of the new police vehicles is that they are, indeed, small enough to effectively patrol the narrow and crowded streets of the Big Apple. Neighborhood streets can be tight and tough to maneuver in by these new vehicles will make it much easier to navigate around.
